Many professional cyclists choose tubulars to achieve superior road performance. It is the lightest among all tire types and has lower rolling resistance than a clincher; moreover, the higher pressures it can reach ensure maximum smoothness and unmatched feel.

The application of a composite puncture-resistant layer and a high-carbon content compound has made it possible to use a thinner tread in this model, while still maintaining high wear and puncture resistance. The thinner tread reduces rolling resistance, while preserving the ideal properties for absorbing asphalt irregularities.

SPC Silica
Tufo uses this high-performance compound in most of its road tubulars. With a hardness rating of 66 Shore (A), this blend, made of synthetic and natural rubber with active silica filler, provides excellent wet grip and low rolling resistance.
